We celebrated the 4th at our house this year with some nearby family and friends. I had planned for us to eat outside but it turned out too hot for that so we picnicked inside. At the last minute, Lauren and I threw together a festive red,white, and blue table. She helped make the flag place mats and the other decorations were just card stock, tissue paper, and yellow punched-out stars. Not too bad for a quick and kid friendly table decorations.
We ate the usually array of 4th foods and ended our meal with delicious, juicy watermelon. I think this was Luke's first time eating the watermelon as a whole piece. He loved it. Lauren was covered in pink juice too. We watched our neighbor's firecracker show and then popped a few firecrackers ourselves.
